DNSSEC deployed in .US; .BIZ shortly to follow, Neustar says

Neustar announced today that DNSSEC has been deployed in the .US zone, and says that it is ready to accept Delegation Signer  records. The .BIZ zone will be signed next, with DS record accepted as early as July 15, 2010.  As a result, it will be “the  second gTLD to be fully DNSSEC-enabled.”


Update – The .BIZ domain was signed on August 7, 2010.

Speakers added for FOSE session on DNSSEC

New speakers have been added to the roster for “What’s Next in DNSSEC,” a day-long special program at the FOSE convetion and expo.  The session, which takes place from 10:00 to 4:30 on Wednesday, March 24, now includes these speakers and topics:

Rodney Joffe, Senior Vice President and Chief Technologist, Neustar, speaking on deployment in .us 

Lauren Price, Senior Product Marketing Manager and Chair of the DNSSEC Industry Coalition, .org, the Public Interest Registry, speaking on deployment in .org.

Bill Billings, U.S. Federal Chief Security Officer for Microsoft joins the panel on DNSSEC lessons learned.

DNSSEC implemented in dot-US:

Neustar announced it has implemented DNSSEC in the dot-US country-code top level domain. Rodney Joffe, senior vice president and senior technologist at Neustar, said, “DNSSEC means a more secure and reliable domain name system because its extensions provide origin authentication of DNS data, data integrity and authenticated denial of existence.”
