This item raises the same concerns that I wrote about last week --
it's not clear what this group is being asked to do. Steve provided a
lengthy response to those concerns last week, but, after reading that
response again, I'm wondering if we wouldn't all be more satisfied
working from a more specific agenda -- most of the line items Steve
described were "discuss (stuff)". Although it might be harder to
achieve goals of "decide (something)" or "reach consensus on
(something)", such goals would result in a more focused discussion and
productive use of time.
It might also be more productive if meeting agendas were planned and
announced earlier -- 48 hours is not enough to allow all relevant
participants to clear their schedules and make a point of attending.
I suggest that we table this item until we have a better-specified
agenda for it.
