    the registry can be done under DE.

I seem to remember that this used to be the case.

    Actually, the registry has allocated a registrar in house, which
    has no advantages over other extern registrars whatsoever. The
    physical proximity of this registrar to the registry should not
    have any effect on dnssec deployment.

So that's the folks you talk to when you do want the DENICdirect
service (as discribed at http://www.denic.de/en/preisliste.html).

As a more general comment, if there are errors or in my notes,
